Christenings

Baptism (or christening) is a special event celebrating the first steps on our journey as a Christian. Both adults and children can be baptised.

Weddings

If you live in St Botolph's parish or you are a member of the congregation here you may marry in St Botolph's. You may also be able to marry here if you have a demonstrable link with this church.

The Church of England provides helpful advice for those considering marriage.

Please contact us for more information about costs, practicalities and possible dates. The Rector will be happy to talk about planning a church wedding and will help you through all the options and decisions to be made.

Thanksgiving Services

We can also provide Services of Prayer and Thanksgiving ...

  • for same-sex couples wishing to celebrate their relationship
  • to celebrate a special anniversary of your wedding or to give thanks for your wedding held elsewhere
  • to give thanks for the arrival or adoption of a child

Funerals and Memorial Services

Funerals may take place in St Botolph’s for those connected with the church or who live in the parish. Alternatively the Rector can take funerals at crematoria. Ask your funeral director to be in touch with us.

Sometimes, a few months after a funeral, a memorial service may be held to mark the life of the person who has died. Business and Livery communities sometimes like to honour someone’s memory and contribution through a service at which that person’s achievements and personality is celebrated.

The Rector has substantial experience working with families and colleagues to tailor services to reflect the person’s life.
