Statement of Belief
The community worshipping here, through faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledge
the supremacy of God as Creator, Redeemer and Inspirer, as set forth in the
Catholic Creeds.
In sharing Christ's ministry, we are inspired by the Ministry of St Botolph,
one of sacramental worship and prayer, combined with care and social action,
and rigorous theological reflection.
We believe about the people of the world
1. That all have worth and are uniquely created, loved and accepted by God
2. That human beings are made for communioin with each other and with God
but we recognise that during our journey from conception to death and beyond,
we both fall short and are damaged, as is today's world
We believe in and are committed to a ministry which:
1. encourages all to come to love God and listen attentively to God's word
2. recognises the diversity of gifts and skills of us all, embracing those
who are marginalized and rejected
3. is a continuing struggle to discern the signs of the Kingdom and a willingness
to engage with difference, contradiction, uncertainty and conflict
4. pursues justice and resists oppression within our communities and the
institutions of society
